Ken Watts, author of Neurifact, brings a wealth of real-world experience to his debut novel. A former Marine Corps pilot with over 100 missions under his belt and a background as a flight test engineer, Watts later transitioned to an engineering career in the aero-defense industry. With a keen eye on the evolving world of artificial intelligence, he began to explore how AI might one day assist fighter pilots—an idea that ultimately inspired Neurifact.

The story centers on Nate Walters, a former Marine turned neuro-engineering professor. Nate is conducting cutting-edge research by recording fighter pilots’ brainwaves, sensory inputs, and motor actions to identify the split-second triggers behind impulsive decisions in combat. His goal? To train AI systems to better understand and assist human pilots.

One of Nate’s key subjects is Captain Lance “Lancer” Patrick, a gifted combat pilot with remarkable instincts. Lancer stands out not just for his skill, but also for his unwavering faith—beginning every mission, real or simulated, with prayer and Scripture. As Lancer repeatedly escapes seemingly impossible situations using maneuvers that defy conventional logic, the AI system known as Perry is left to interpret the unexplainable. What does it conclude? You’ll have to read Neurifact to find out.

Alongside the high-stakes military tech and action, the novel weaves in a heartfelt love story, strong portrayals of faithful marriages, and powerful themes of forgiveness and redemption.

The flight sequences are vividly rendered, clearly written by someone who’s been in the cockpit. Watts’ unique blend of military expertise, scientific imagination, and spiritual insight make Neurifact a compelling and thought-provoking read.

Neurifact is available on Amazon.
